About

I’ve lived in many different places throughout my life, from New York and Vermont to Bolivia and Spain – where I settled as a teen into my twenties, and finally Costa Rica which I’ve called home for the last 10 years. 

 

As a young artist in Southern Spain, I quickly identified with the Mediterranean gypsies who I encountered there. A nomadic way of life, like my childhood and their culture, requires movement, openness, and a curiosity about the world -

These life forces continue to guide me.

 

In all of my work you will find the juxtaposition of structured form and natural flow. The years I spent living in New York City and Barcelona come through each piece in strength and structure, where their movement and flow harken back to my time on the Mediterranean Sea, in the mountains of upstate New York and Vermont, and now the beaches of Costa Rica. 

 

From these two influences – the culture of cities and the beauty of the natural world – you might notice in each of my pieces an attempt to balance power with delicacy. By coupling bold forms with natural textures, I try to achieve a soft heft that evokes both strength and grace. In other words -  the essence of femininity.

 

All of these layers of beauty and boldness go into my pieces. 

 

I currently live and work in Nosara, Costa Rica where the mystery of its ocean and jungle constantly feed my passion and creativity.
